A water tanker was dispatched to Eastbourne after a burst pipe caused multiple properties to lose water.
A burst main in Eastbourne has left several Lower Hutt suburbs without water.
A Wellington Water spokesperson said that while they were unable to confirm how many properties had been affected, the affected areas included parts of Eastbourne, Days Bay, Lowry Bay and York Bay.
The water main failed about 4pm on Wednesday in the area of 735-759 Marine Drive in Eastbourne. A Wellington Water spokesperson confirmed crews were on-site repairing the faulty pipe.
A water tanker was also sent to 761 Marine Drive and residents were told to bring bottles and water containers.
By 6:45pm, crews successfully isolated the water pipe between 624-759 Marine Drive and were working towards restoring water to all properties.
Wellington Water also said crews will be flushing the pipes to remove excess dirty water.
