Northland police have recovered life-size gorilla and a dinosaur statuea, which were stolen from a commercial business in Kerikeri in May.

Police found a gorilla and a dinosaur during raids in Northand.

On Tuesday afternoon, police announced they’d made the “larger-than-life” discovery and reunited a local business with the two life-sized animal statues after carrying out a series of search warrants executed this month.

An amount of cannabis and $13,000 of cash were also seized.

Kerikeri police had been investigating several reports of burglaries in the mid-North and Whangārei when they made the unusual find.

More to come.
