Copper spouting appears to have been stolen from the building that houses The Daily Grind and Hospital Fish Shop on Ruahine St.

Thieves appear to have taken spouting from three properties in Palmerston North.

Stuff was alerted on Friday to the theft of copper spouting from a building on Ruahine St which houses The Daily Grind Cafe and Hospital Fish Shop.

The spouting looked to have been ripped off the front, back and side of the building.

A staff member at the fish shop said he had been working late on Thursday night and didn’t notice anything, but was shocked to see the spouting gone on Friday.

A staff member at the cafe was also puzzled at the spouting’s disappearance.

Where the spouting had been removed left an obvious gap at the front of the cafe and fish and chip shop.

A police spokesperson said officers had received a report of spouting missing from a property on Ruahine St.

The spokesperson said there had also been another report of spouting being pulled from two properties on Albert St, near Te Awe Awe St, early on Thursday morning. Police were investigating.
