WRITE ON STUFF: It’s getting close to lunchtime and your cravings are kicking in. Your is stomach grumbling. You need food.

But a sandwich or a salad is not going to satisfy your hunger today. Only one thing will – an iconic, tasty Kiwi pie.

But what flavour will you reach for? A classic, steak and cheese? Bacon and egg? Vege or vegan?

Pie lovers are spoilt for choice, but everyone has a favourite.

Judges weighed in on the debate at the Bakels NZ Pie Awards on Tuesday. Tauranga baker Patrick Lam’s roast duck, onion and mushroom pie was named overall Supreme Pie and won the Gourmet Meat category. It was Lam’s 8th Supreme title. Previous Supreme pie winning entries for Lam have included his Mince & Cheese in 2019, Bacon & Egg in 2016 and another Gourmet Meat in 2017.

Now it’s your turn to weigh in on the discussion. We want you to tell us what your GOAT pie is and why?

It's a question that divides the nation. What is New Zealand's best pie? Tell us.
