It’s Friday! And it’s also FIFA quarter finals day! How good!

“I couldn’t possibly comment”.

That was the response we got when we asked Wellington City Council spokesperson, Richard McLean, if he was the capital’s recycling vigilante.

That.. is.. exactly.. What a recycling vigilante WOULD say.

The story and situation I’m referring to is this – someone has taken issue to other people’s recycling bin practices, and decided to slap some very legit looking stickers on the bins, telling them off for putting things in there that shouldn’t be in there.

Reasons listed on the sticker, that can be ticked off, include:

• ‘Something smells pooey’

• ‘Dead seagull’

• ‘You’ve put the wrong bin on the wrong week – dumbass’

The situation is extremely funny ha-ha, and that was why we got Richard from the council on for a yarn.. But then.. His inability to firmly deny his involvement is certainly intriguing.

Then again, it could be me….

The fires ripping through parts of Hawaii are devastating and deadly, and one of our own forestry organisations here says we need to be paying super close attention to what is happening in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, because while the threat of wildfires here isn’t as extreme, it’s still there.

Former Football Fern Anna Green joins us once again, this time it’s to talk about the FIFA Quarter Finals! I’m so pumped for this afternoon’s game in Wellington – I’ve ended up going to four games! And they’ve all been so much fun!

Side note: keep an eye out for tomorrow’s episode as well, because Anna joins us once again to talk all things penalty shootouts (seeing as we’ve seen a few them throughout the competition so far!).
