Apprentice jockey Megan Taylor, 26, died after the fall at Ashburton Raceway.
A Racing Integrity Board adjudication committee found a charge of careless riding in a race, in which apprentice jockey Megan Taylor later died in Ashburton last year, has been proved.
The defendant, apprentice jockey Denby Rose-Tait, denied the careless riding charge at a hearing in Christchurch on Tuesday.
The committee comprising Jane Lovell-Smith (chair) and Gavin Jones, found after assessing evidence that the case brought by the Racing Industry Board had been proved and that the degree of carelessness had been in the medium range.
