Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire in Palmerston North.

Crews were called to the blaze, at a property in Terrace End, shortly after 6am, Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Carlos Dempsey said.

Dempsey said he wasn’t aware of what the damages were just yet but a fire investigator had been called in shortly after 7.30am to determine what had happened.

“We still have a fire crew there with another one taking over and a fire investigator has been there for about 30 minutes carrying out preliminary investigations.”
