Police have been called to a serious crash near Ward, in south Marlborough.
A serious crash involving a car and a motorbike has closed State Highway 1 in south Marlborough.
The crash happened at Ward, between Wests and Ure roads, about 6pm on Friday, a police spokesperson said.
Emergency services were attending the scene and the Serious Crash Unit had been notified.
Traffic management was being put in place but the road was expected to be closed for some time while police investigated, the spokesperson said about 6.30pm.
“Motorists are advised to expect delays.”
