Person involved in crash on Timaru-Temuka Highway in stable condition

A person involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Timaru-Temuka Highway has been transferred to Christchurch Hospital in a stable condition.

On Monday evening, emergency services were called to the crash at 5.40pm with reports of a person trapped.

A patient was transported to Timaru Hospital following the crash and by Tuesday they had been transferred to Christchurch Hospital.

“The patient is in a stable condition but remains in our Intensive Care Unit,” a Te Whatu Ora spokesperson said.

Diversions were in place at Arowhenua Rd and Hopkinson Rd but have since been removed.
