Offenders stole food after ramming a car into a shop in Rolleton, southwest of Christchurch.
Police responded to a report of a burglary at a shopping centre on Faringdon Blvd at 5.10am on Friday.
Food items were taken from the store after a vehicle was used to gain entry, a police spokesperson said.
The Faringdon subdivision has a small block of shops on the main street, including a convenience store, an Indian restaurant, a dental practice, a dance school, and a bar and grill restaurant.
“Inquiries are under way to identify and locate the offenders,” the spokesperson said.
