Police say people are “seriously injured” in a crash on Mountain Rd, Inglewood on Wednesday morning.
A serious truck versus car crash on Mountain Rd in Inglewood has closed the road and there are reports of serious injuries.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash at 8.15am on Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson said initial reports show that someone has sustained serious injuries.
Diversions have been set in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) spokesperson said three crews were sent to the scene from New Plymouth and Inglewood stations.
Firefighters are currently helping to extract one person who is trapped in a vehicle.
A witness on the scene said the car is smashed and there is debris all over the road.
