Prince Daniel and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden are set to visit Hamilton Gardens this weekend – they are part of a trade delegation to New Zealand.
Swedish royalty is set to visit Hamilton Gardens this weekend – as well as a recycling firm and a dairy farm.
The heir to the Swedish throne, Crown Princess Victoria, and her husband Prince Daniel will be welcomed by mayor Paula Southgate to the Te Parapara Māori Garden on Saturday and may then visit other themed gardens as well.
Visiting the gardens is understood to have been requested by the couple’s party.
A statement on the website of the Swedish embassy in Canberra said the couple are visiting this part of the world to promote and deepen Sweden’s bilateral relations with Australia and New Zealand.
It said the pair are due in New Zealand Thursday and, besides Hamilton Gardens, they would also visit a recycling company, Saveboard, and a local dairy farm while in the area.
At the farm they would “learn about how Swedish innovations and solutions contribute to sustainable food systems and reduce emissions in the agricultural sector”, the statement said.
