Comedian Karen O’Leary will join fellow comedians and Wellington musicians to raise funds for cyclone-ravaged Hawke’s Bay.

The region was one of the worst hit by Cyclone Gabrielle, which hit New Zealand in mid-February and resulted in the deaths of 11 people, with the number expected to rise.

The charity concert, United We Band, will be held at Wellington’s Jack Hackett’s pub on Sunday, February 26 from 12pm until late.

As of Saturday, 15 local bands and artists were confirmed to perform – many of which had been scheduled to perform Napier’s Art Deco Festival, which was cancelled following the storm.
