In baking, as in all areas of life, fashions change and certain things go in and out of style. While it’s always fun to experiment and try new trends, there’s also something comforting – I find particularly in winter – about returning to nostalgic childhood favourites. They might be unfashionable and kitschy, but that doesn’t make them any less delicious.
