Travellers trying to get across Cook Strait have encountered further issues with yet another ferry berthed after experiencing problems this week.
This time it was Bluebridge’s Connemara which reportedly experienced “an engineering issue” on Thursday afternoon, with five sailings cancelled. All customers affected would be advised by email and text.
The ferry is undergoing repairs in Wellington, according to Bluebridge’s website.
Bluebridge has been approached for comment.
It’s the second time this week ferry passengers have been left in the lurch, after several sailings of Interislander’s Kaitaki were also cancelled.
Stormy weather on Monday afternoon caused minor damage to the Interislander’s Kaitaki, leading to its sailings for Tuesday and Wednesday morning being cancelled as a safety precaution.
The vessel returned to normal service as of Thursday.
