Adrian Robins capped off an outstanding season when named South Canterbury men’s bowler of year at the West End club on Sunday.
Robins was in sensational form, winning the New Zealand national fours title in February and also two South Canterbury titles.
At the national fours, played in Central Otago in February, Robins was part of a Halswell, Waimate and Renwick composite team with Rodney Greaney, Paul Matheson and Kevan Greenwood as he won his first national title.
He won the South Canterbury centre triples with Dave Carey and Peter Tutton, and teamed up again with Carey to win the South Canterbury pairs, which earned him his gold bar for winning 10 South Canterbury titles.

Another top performer was Bruce Wakefield who won the New Zealand disability pairs title and on Friday night was named South Canterbury para athlete of the year.
The event also recognised the achievement of Temuka Bowling Club in winning the bronze medal at the national interclub sevens.
Bruce Scott was named the development bowler of the year in what was a tough decision, as there were many stars in the baby bowlers, and special mention was made of Jason Browning who performed on and off greens to win the Dick Seddon Trophy.
The South Canterbury representative men’s team also won three representative fixtures and Zone 6 to finish off an amazing season.
