Police have cordoned off a street in Far North District following a report of gunshots.
Armed offenders squads have cordoned of Matauri Bay Road near Te Tapui Road.
Police attended on Thursday at 5.18pm.
Police have appealed to the public to avoid the area.

“AOS are in attendance as a precaution,” a statement read.
“Police ask members of the public to please avoid the area while enquiries are ongoing.”
