Bidois said the Nelson hospitality workers and venues that shone through the year should be celebrated.
“Whether you’re a local resident savouring local flavours, a hospitality professional, or an overseas visitor, these awards present an opportunity to recognise the finest offerings of the region,” she said.
The nominees for the barista award came from Victus Eatery, La Planta Cafe, Columbus Coffee Nelson (Mitre 10) and The Goods Espresso.
Indian Cafe Nelson, Nahm, Viva la Vaca and Street Food on Washington have earned nominations in the street food/ethnic cuisine category.
The 17 winners among crew members, suppliers and establishments will be announced on October 3.
