Police want to hear from anyone who saw people or cars in the Clyde Cres area between 3am and 4.30am on Monday.

The man killed after a fatal stabbing in Palmerston North was 36-year-old Dayne Rademakers, police say.

Rademakers died in hospital after he was found with stab wounds at a home on Clyde Crescent in Palmerston North on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 4am and a homicide investigation was underway.

Central District crime manager Detective Inspector Craig Sheridan said a scene examination had been completed, but investigations were ongoing.

Police wanted to hear from anyone who saw people or cars in the area between 3am and 4.30am on Monday.

“Investigators are speaking to people who were present at the address, and at nearby properties at the time of the incident, in an effort to piece together the events that led to Dayne’s death.”

He said anyone who witnessed anything in the area at that time, or had information that could assist police, should call 105 and use file number 230821/7290.

A death notice in the Manawatū Standard on Thursday said Rademakers was a “loving” father, brother and son “tragically taken too soon”.

It said he was a “goofy” uncle and “kind soul with a wonderfully cheeky sense of humour”.

His funeral would be held in the city on Saturday.
