Heybarn connects people with available space on their lifestyle and rural properties with those who need storage, event, work or creative space.
A New Zealand startup allowing people to rent space such as a sheds, paddocks or garages is being re-launched.
Heybarn is focused on connecting people with available space on their lifestyle and rural properties with their fellow Kiwis who need storage, event, work or creative space.
The company has a new website and will have a site at the Mystery Creek Fieldays this week.
Operations manager Dan Lynch said by advertising for free on the heybarn site, space owners can easily earn passive income from buildings and paddocks that would otherwise stand empty.

Also, for those looking for space, heybarn offers affordable and flexible space options of all shapes and sizes throughout New Zealand.
Launched in 2022, heybarn has been steadily gaining traction. Kiwis need more space, with commercial self-storage occupancy rates across New Zealand consistently at 90%.
With development of a new website designed in response to their community feedback, heybarn is ready to prove Kiwis overwhelmingly preferred to rent directly from other Kiwis.
Heybarn has focused attention on maximising the safety and privacy of its community, with both renters and space owners asked to list on the site before a connection is made.
“There’s no risk. The heybarn site has been designed with privacy and security as our top priorities with a high level of protection.”
If a renter likes the look of some available space, they can contact the space owner via the website and the shed owner can review their request before agreeing to a site visit.
Heybarn also provides a free legal rental agreement template and the specific location of space not disclosed on the site.
Plans are also under way to launch heybarn in Australia.
