A Kiwi tourist has allegedly been the victim of a “completely random and unprovoked” stabbing in downtown Vancouver, Canada.
The 28-year-old visitor from New Zealand was stabbed from behind by a stranger on the corner of Nelson and Granville Streets in the Granville entertainment district of Vancouver just before 8pm on Wednesday, the Vancouver Police Department said.

The man took himself to hospital for treatment, which were not life-threatening, the VPD said.
“From what we know so far, this attack appears to be completely random and unprovoked,” VPD spokeswoman Constable Tania Visintin said.
Investigators are looking a man about 5’ 5” tall with a medium complexion, who was wearing a white T-shirt, dark jeans, and blue baseball cap, she said.
“No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing,” the VPD said.
Stuff has approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for comment.
More to come.
