Lydia Ko plays her second shot on the second hole at the LPGA Thailand at the old Pattaya course in Chon Buri.
Lydia Ko fired seven birdies on her way to a 4-under 68 to match her first round effort at the LPGA Thailand in Pattaya on Friday.
Her effort sees her as one of five golfers tied for 15th, but they are just four shots off leader Natthakritta Vongtaveelap of Thailand, who earned her place in the field by winning the qualifying event. She hit a 7-under 65.
Ko, the world No 1, started strongly, birdying three of the first four holes, and she continued playing steadily until the 14th hole, which she bogeyed. She had a hiccup again with a double bogey at the par-4 17th before claiming her seventh birdie at the final hole.

She is once again in the reckoning for an LPGA tournament, after pocketing a cool $1.2 million for her win in Saudi Arabia earlier this week, her third win in her last four events.
Maja Stark from Sweden is in second place, one shot behind Vongtaveelap, while Nelly Korda is one of five players in third place after she hit a 66.
