A man will appear in court on Thursday after an alleged assault on a fishing vessel in Lyttelton Harbour.
A 30-year-old man was due in the Christchurch District Court on two charges of common assault, one charge of behaving threateningly, and four charges of assault on a person in a family relationship.
Police were notified of the alleged assault about 4.10pm on Wednesday, a spokesperson said.
A Sealord spokesperson confirmed a man was arrested on a Sealord vessel.

They could not comment further as the matter was with police, they said.
Police said there were no reports of injuries.
