Multiple new Lord of the Rings films are on the way, Warner Bros Discovery has announced.
Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films have become iconic. His original trilogy released in 2001, 2002 and 2003, respectively.
His The Hobbit trilogy released in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The films have become synonymous with the New Zealand film industry.
Warner Bros Discovery executive David Zaslav announced the new films on an earnings call.

“I’m thrilled to announce … a deal to make multiple Lord of the Rings movies,” he said.
“Lord of the Rings is one of the most iconic storytelling franchises of all time and we’re so excited.
