Alex Park has been appointed as general manager operations at Port Taranaki.
New Plymouth man Alex Park has been appointed as general manager operations at Port Taranaki and will take up the position in March.
Park is currently general manager of asset management business Stork New Zealand.
In a press release Port Taranaki said Park had previously worked as tank and terminal programme lead for Dialog Fitzroy Engineering, been chief executive officer of First Security, chief operating officer of national recruitment and workforce company Accordant, and general manager of Skilled Group/Offshore Marine Services in New Zealand and internationally.
Port Taranaki chief executive Simon Craddock said Park had more than 20 years’ experience across a range of industries internationally and, in particular, had experience at sea.
“As well as vessel management, port operations, ship and offshore construction, and supply chain,” he said.
Port Taranaki marine manager Ben Martin is in the role of general manager operations on an interim basis until Park joins the company.
