Wellington City Council is looking to update its animals rules, and you could soon be able to have 12 of these cuties, instead of a measly eight.
Newsable is brought to you by BNZ.
Listen to Newsable to find out what’s worth talking about today: what’s fuelling the record spate of car thefts in Christchurch, why Wellington’s allowing you to own more quails, the junk circling the moon, plus the UK survey that found bus drivers love being greeted.
Well, well, well, she’s back and in your inbox!
It feels like it’s been years! How are you? I hope you’ve been well.
It’s been a while since I was the one giving you your morning Newsable dose via email, and I have given a few life updates on the podcast about what I’ve been up to these last couple of weeks, but here are a few other things of note that I haven’t yet mentioned:
-
I made my first ever Lego
-
My whole family was in Wellington for the first time ever (I think?? Nicky Wells will correct me if I’m wrong) and Bean LOST HIS MIND at having all his favourite people in one place
-
I met Sarah Hyland from Modern Family (and who also hosts Love Island USA) and we sang songs from Les Misérables to one another in a pool
Right, now that we’re all caught up, let’s talk about the show!
First up, Stuff’s Blair Ensor joins us to explain his latest investigation – the record high car thefts in Christchurch, with kids as young as 8 years old taking part.
Local Government Minister Kieran McAnulty makes his Newsable debut to talk about why and how councils decide the number of pets people can have on their property (a wonderful heads up that QUAILS, of all things, feature a lot in this interview which just makes me SO happy).
We’re talking space junk, and more specifically the three tonnes of space junk left on the moon from things that range from crash-landed probes, to golf balls, boots.. and even.. things that should only ever be in a toilet.
And new research out of the UK has found bus drivers love it when passengers greet them – but the research also suggests the Brits barely ever do such a thing, which had us absolutely floored. Do you thank the bus driver? Do you say hi to them? Get in touch on Instagram, or flick us an email newsable@stuff.co.nz.
Lovely to be back into the swing of things, and I’ll speak to you soon,
Imo
