Warriors star Shaun Johnson has re-signed with the club for the 2024 season.

Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson has re-signed for the club and will continue his NRL career in 2024.

Johnson, who played his 200th NRL game for the club in last Saturday night’s 46-10 victory over the Eels, re-joined the Warriors last season after three years at Sharks.

The freshly inked deal is a one year extension for the 2024 season, to take the 32-year-old into his 14th NRL season.

Warriors coach Andrew Webster is hopeful Johnson will celebrate his new contract by taking the field against the Sharks in Auckland on Sunday but he is no sure thing to play with his wife, Silver Fern Kayla Johnson, due to give birth to their second child this week.

“The way Shaun has gone about his football on and off the field this season has been phenomenal,” Webster said.

“His leadership and ambition to get better has been the driving factor in his and our success this season.

“He has gone to a completely new level,” Webster said. “He had a brilliant offseason and hasn’t slowed down since.

“Everyone can see how happy he is being back home in Auckland and around the club he loves so much. It’s terrific knowing he’s going to have another season with us in 2024, a huge boost for the club.”
