Mangaone Rd was closed for a time on Sunday after the crash.

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Halcombe on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene, on Mangaone Rd, about 1:45pm.

In a statement on Monday, a police confirmed one person had died and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.

On Sunday, the road was closed for a period of time and diversions were in place around the crash site.

Firefighters and Hato Hone St John staff attended as well as police officers.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they had responded to a medical incident while a Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they were notified of the crash “and responded one ambulance, one helicopter and one manager to the scene”.

“We were not required for transportation. Please refer all further inquiries to police.”
