Person dies in Turanganui River after water-related incident on Thursday. (File photo)
One person has died following a water-related incident in Gisborne’s Turanganui River, police said.
Police were notified of the incident about 8.20pm on Thursday.
The person received medical assistance at the scene but later died.
Their death will be referred to the coroner.
