A person is dead after a work place accident in Mt Maunganui
A person has died after an accident in a Bay of Plenty factory.
The accident happened at 12pm on July 27 at Ballance Agrinutrients Mount Maunganui operations site on Hewletts Rd.
Police and other emergency services attended the incident at the company which produces fertiliser and other products for the agriculture industry.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed the fatality to Stuff.
“With deep sadness, we can confirm that this incident has resulted in a fatality. Our hearts go out to our team member’s whanau, friends, and colleagues.
We are working closely with Worksafe and police, who are on site, as they review the incident and we hope to know more soon”
The Mount Operations site is closed to until further notice.
