Police in Masterton are looking for a Mitsubishi ute that could be involved in a hit-and-run in Greytown that happened late last month.
A man was found with serious injuries on a section of State Highway 2 between North St and Ahikōuka Rd about 7am on Sunday, June 24.
A police statement on Tuesday said the man was walking next to the road in the northbound lane on SH2 North of Greytown, when he has been struck by a vehicle and left unconscious at the scene.
CCTV images tracked a 2016-2020 Mitsubishi Triton fitted with a flat deck and front bulbar with side protection driving through the area before the incident, police said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Police believe the driver of this vehicle may have information that would assist in the investigation and are asking them to contact Masterton Police as soon as possible,” it said.
Police said anyone with any information should call 105 quoting file number 230625/2031, or give information anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
