A serious crash has closed State Highway 10 in Waipapa, west of Kerikeri in Northland, on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency service have responded to a crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of the state highway and Waipapa West Road.
A police spokesperson said it appeared one person had suffered critical injuries as a result.
“The road is likely to be blocked for some time while emergency services respond,” they said.

The Serious Crash Unit was notified of the incident.
