Suspicious car fire in Milford, Timaru

Firefighters have arrived to find a vehicle well ablaze in Milford, Timaru early on Sunday morning.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand received reports of the fire at 4.23am and a crew from Temuka was sent to the scene.

Shift manager Simon Lyford said when firefighters arrived, they found the car to be “well involved”.

No one was found at the scene and the fire was being treated as suspicious.

The fire crew left the scene at 5am after making sure the fire was out.
