Two people have been arrested following a firearms incident in the Auckland suburb of Clover Park last month.

Police were called to Clutha Crescent, Clover Park, just before 5.40pm on Tuesday, May 2.

At the time, a police spokesperson said when police arrived they found a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

Acting Detective Inspector Mike Hayward, of Counties Manukau CIB, said police executed search warrants on Tuesday, as part of the investigation.

“We have arrested two people as a result of today’s action, and they will face serious charges in court.”

An 18-year-old man, and a 60-year-old woman are expected to appear in the Manukau District Court on Tuesday afternoon.

Both have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, Hayward said.

“We hope today’s arrests bring some reassurance to the community as a result.

“Police do not tolerate these sorts of incidents where firearms are used in our communities, and we will investigate any offending to hold offenders accountable.”

Police inquiries are ongoing, and further charges could not be ruled out.
