A statement said armed officers responded to the incident at the suburb of Pirimai at about 4.30pm on February 16 and took two people into custody. There were no reports of injuries and charges were being considered.

“Police will be taking a hard line with anyone acting unlawfully and compounding the suffering of our hard-hit communities,” the statement said.

Armed officers were also present in the suburb of Marewa as a precaution while locating a person of interest at about 6.45pm on Friday. The person was not located and the cordons were later stood down.
