Lamborghini fans might want to look away for this one …

Remember when YouTube was just wall-to-wall videos of cute cats and video game walkthroughs? Well, those days are long over.

The world’s most well-known video sharing site is brimming with content, with creators doing everything they can to garner attention from hungry audience members. The wilder the content, the better.

Nobody does it better than American YouTuber MrBeast. James Stephen Donaldson, known by his fans as Jimmy, owns the second largest subscriber base on the site and the most for an individual, 181 million.

His channel features some of the most crazed and frenetic content on the site. Many videos hinge around the YouTuber giving away large amounts of money, but some also feature him and his team funding eye surgeries, trekking Antarctica, and even organising an entire mini Olympics.

MrBeast’s latest video is yet another chaotic creation. The 14-minute video, simply titled ‘Lamborghini Vs Shredder’, plots one ‘contestant’ and their attempt to win a Lamborghini Gallardo from the YouTuber, while teasing in the background that another Gallardo was going to meet its maker via an encounter with an industrial shredding machine.

In the giveaway sections of the video (which is cut together in the most abrasive manner possible to keep your brain hooked …), a MrBeast fan named Adam is tasked with protecting a Gallardo from tank shells.

They’re given two days to build a protective buffer between the car and where the tanks will fire from, eventually using a stack of old cars, some brick walls, and five large above-ground swimming pools full of water.

After a tense few attempts, one of which missed the top of the Gallardo by centimetres, low and behold Adam’s Gallardo emerged unscathed. Yet another successful video giveaway resolved, tens of millions more views collected by the internet giant.

The Gallardo put up a valiant fight, needing a few shoves from a digger to progress through the shredder.

The Gallardo put up a valiant fight, needing a few shoves from a digger to progress through the shredder.

But, while one Lamborghini had a happy ending, the other did not. After munching through a piano and a vending machine, amongst other odd props I presume just happened to be hanging around the MrBeast office, the shredder consumed its last victim – a red Lamborghini Gallardo.

While the car was getting turned into metal and carbon confetti, MrBeast conceded that the car had been ‘decommissioned’. Indeed, you can see in some of the footage that it no longer has an engine between its rear wheels. Although I’m sure there’s a few Gallardo owners out there shedding a tear thinking about all the useful parts getting turned into mince.

At the time of writing, the five-day-old video had accumulated almost 80m views. The inevitable question now is, on a platform where the content constantly snowballs, how much bigger will MrBeast’s next car destruction video be?
