At Industree Group Stadium, Gosford: Wellington Phoenix 1 (Oskar Zawada 90+4’) Central Coast Mariners 1 (James McGarry 12’) HT: 0-1

Wellington Phoenix striker Oskar Zawada scored his 10th goal of the season to salvage a point in another crazy encounter against Central Coast Mariners after the opposition were reduced to nine men and had their coach banished from the sideline.

Zawada scored with a backheel in the fourth minute of stoppage time to cancel out James McGarry’s 12th minute opener to secure a late 1-1 draw.

The Mariners finished the game with just nine men on the field. Vanuatu international Brian Kaltak was the first to go, shown a straight red for collecting David Ball high on the shin with his follow through after winning the ball in the 58th minute.

Brazilian midfielder Moresche joined him after poking Scott Wootton in the face after taking exception to a tug from the Phoenix centre-back, and Mariners coach Nick Montgomery was also shown a red card for dissent as the match reached boiling point.
