New Zealand sprint star Zoe Hobbs has qualified for the semifinals at the world championships.
Kiwi sprint ace Zoe Hobbs has eased into the semifinals of the women’s 100m at the world athletics championships in Hungary.
Hobbs finished third in the seventh and final heat, clocking 11.14 seconds into a slight head wind, to progress to the semifinals as an automatic qualifier, with the top three in each heat going through. There was a comfortable 0.15 second gap back to fourth.
Jamaican star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the heat in 11.01 seconds.
Hobbs has a season and personal best of 10.96.
The semifinals are on Tuesday morning (NZT).
