Man found injured and unconscious in Auckland reserve, two men arrested.

Two men have been arrested for serious assault after a man was found seriously injured and unconscious in an Auckland reserve last month.

A member of the public found the man in Hillsborough near Orpheus Drive at about 6.30am on April 19, police said.

The man was taken to Auckland Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 36-year-old and 20-year-old have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in the Auckland District Court.

Police detective Scott Armstrong said it was a “very concerning incident” which resulted in “life-altering injuries”.

“We would like to reassure the community that we take this kind of offending seriously.

“We hope these arrests demonstrate our commitment to hold those responsible for this type of brazen offending to account, no matter how long it takes,” he said.
