A person has been killed after a car and a truck collided near Ashburton.
The collision was reported at 9.45am on Monday at the intersection of Hackthorne Rd and Maronan Valetta Rd.
A police spokesperson confirmed the sole occupant of the car had died and the driver of the truck had minor injuries.
The road remained closed and was likely to be blocked for some time while a scene examination was completed.
