Police are now looking at a different vehicle as part of an investigation into a Greytown hit-and-run late last month after the driver of a Mitsubishi ute that officers were looking for came forward.
Twenty-four-year-old William Newton was struck by a vehicle on State Highway 2 near Greytown on the evening of June 25, sustaining serious injuries.
Police released CCTV images of a 2016-2020 Mitsubishi Triton fitted with a flat deck and front bull bar with side protection driving through the area before the incident on Tuesday, saying the driver may have information that could assist with the enquiry.
Police said on Thursday the driver of the Mitsubishi ute came forward and had spoken with officers, and they thanked him for his help.
