Sydney Kings’ coach Chase Buford has been handed a sanction for breaching the NBL Code of Conduct.
Buford has been fined $3,500 following several comments he made about the officiating during his post-match media conference on Sunday night at Spark Arena, Auckland.
The Breakers beat the Kings 80-70 to level the championship series at 2-2 before the decider in Sydney on Wednesday night.
Buford accused the Breakers of being too physical, the referees of favouring the Kiwi club and asserting owner Matt Walsh influenced the officials via social media.
The American coach then stormed out of the press conference on Sunday night after a follow-up question about the Breakers’ physicality.
